About this location
Ballark Community Training Centre was established in 1986 to cater for the needs of early school leavers from the Ballymun Larkhill areas. In the beginning Ballark delivered training in sewing and woodwork to 30 learners. In 1997 we introduced Catering and expanded to 40 places. Today Ballark delivers training in Catering 20 places, Woodwork & Pre-Apprenticeship 20 places, and Health Related Fitness to 10 learners.
- Mark McEvoy started in Ballark as one of our first trainees back in 1986. Mark progressed on to complete is apprenticeship as a wood machinist and is now our Pre-apprenticeship Instructor.
- Catherine Duncan – Qualified with a BA Honours Degree in Youth Work from Dundalk I.T. and now works as an Outreach Worker in BRYR in Ballymun. Catherine is also on the Board of Management of Ballark
- Barry Martin – Fully Qualified chef and completed Training and Education in NUIG and is now the catering instructor in Liberties CTC
- Anthony Foran – Qualified with an Honours Degree in Business and IT from Blanchardstown I.T
