Tolka Valley Community Training Centre situated at 106a Lagan Road Dublin Industrial Estate Glasnevin Dublin is funded through the City of Dublin Education and Training Board. The centre
is a learner centred facility, has a capacity of 60 students catering for young early school leavers and young adults in the Finglas and Cabra area of Dublin. Tolka Valley is funded through the
European social fund and government exchequer through SOLAS and the City of Dublin E.T.B.
The centre offers a range of programmes that deliver skills for the economy, support active inclusion, empower learners, offers relevant certification, progression and has a high employment
placement rate. The courses are: Sports and recreations, Catering, Carpentry and Beauty Specialist. The learners on all our courses receive a minimum level 3 FETAC Major Award in Employability Skills with a diploma in Beauty Specialist.
Managed by a voluntary board, under the Chairmanship of Mr Tony Gorman and manager Mick Byrne Tolka Valley Community Training Centre offers a wonderful opportunity for learners to pursue second chance education and training. The centre provides a wide range of practical work-focussed courses with the emphasis on lifelong learning to enable young learners acquire
new skills and raise their confidence and self-esteem.
Tolka Valley is proud of all the students who received training with them. There are many success stories such as a past student Amie Pike who completed the Beauty Specialist Course and went on to open her own salon AP. Fashions Beauty Salon and is now employing six staff some of which completed their training with us. Amie has many awards to her name including Irish national nail tournament overall winner 2016. Winning this prestigious award led to Amie becoming a judge in Ireland and UK competitions.
