About this location
Dun Laoghaire Community Training Centre CLG (DLCTC) was established in August 1985 to address the difficulties encountered by early school leavers in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County area. Since our inception the Community Training Centre has been responding to the changing needs of Early School by providing a second chance or alternative educational and training facility to those for whom school is no longer an option whatever the reason.
Today, DLCTC provides 55 young people with the opportunity to follow nationally accredited QQI training programmes at Level 3 and level 4 on the national framework of qualifications while, also equipping them with personal and social life skills together with relevant vocational skills in a number of specific work skill areas.
All our courses are accredited by QQI and lead to the following Major Level 3 and 4 Awards:
Level 3 Employability Skills 3M0935
Level 4 Pathway to Employment (General Learning) 4M2010
The centre has achieved successes over the years in assisting young people return to education in a supportive and inclusive way. Many learners progress from the centre to further education in local colleges while others have had success in finding apprenticeships or direct employment.
Learners can choose to pursue their training in one of five course areas:
