About this location
The Tralee Community Training Workshop (Now, Tralee Community Training Centre – TCTC) was created in 1983 with several community based organisations coming together, to provide training for early school leavers and the young unemployed (16-21yrs).
The centre provides full-time training in Catering, Construction, Hairdressing and Technology (formally Pre-Apprenticeship). The full-time instructors are supported by Communications, Information Technology, Science, Literacy and Numeracy teachers. With additional support from counsellors and the Mentor scheme.
The courses at the TCTC are delivered in a friendly and person centred informal manner, helping trainees to take control of their lives, through goal setting, structured learning, personal development and additional Numeracy and Literacy support.
This enables the skills and knowledge learned, to be developed to gain qualifications that help the trainee’s into employment or further education possibilities.
CTC provide a fresh opportunity for young persons to attain nationally recognised certificates at their own pace and with the assistance of friendly and supportive staff.
